3 Ways To Celebrate Halloween as an Adult

September 13, 2019

Halloween is a favorite childhood holiday for many. Even though it’s just one day, some people celebrate the season all October long — sometimes starting even earlier! As an adult, especially an adult without children, it can be tricky to know how to celebrate this candy-and-costume-centered holiday. Even without trick-or-treating, there are many ways to enjoy the Halloween season.

Tricks

Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you can’t pull pranks. Now that you’re older, it’s time for the gags to get a little more sophisticated. The best tricks are ones that don’t hurt anyone and simply confuse them instead. Some funny Halloween pranks you could try include coating an onion in caramel to make it look like a candy apple or putting fake bugs where your friends will least expect them.

Treats

What’s Halloween without a few treats? As an adult, you can get a little more creative with your Halloween treats. From trying new recipes, to buying opulent chocolate candy bouquets or making spooky, Halloween-themed mixed drinks, there’s a world of possibilities. If you are throwing a party, ask your friends to each bring a dish. You never know what kind of creative treats they’ll whip up.

Costumes

Dressing up is half the fun on Halloween, and it doesn’t have to end just because you’re all grown up. While you may not be dressing up as a princess or a cowboy this year, there are still plenty of fun and scary costumes to pick from. Take the easy route and buy a pre-made costume from the store. If you want to be a little more creative, try making your own costume; this is often cheaper and gets even better compliments from your friends.
Whether or not you plan on putting a fake bug in your coworker’s coffee, buying chocolate candy bouquets for your friends, or making a costume to match your favorite movie, there are many ways to celebrate Halloween as an adult. Enjoy the holiday season and stay spooky!
