How To Plan an Amazing Holiday Party

October 08, 2021

The holidays are an amazing time. You get to see family that you might not have seen for a long time, and it seems like most people are in good spirits at that time of year. However, if you're planning on hosting the holiday party, you might find that staying in a good mood is hard to do.

You want to make sure the party goes off without a hitch, but you also don't want to lose your sanity in the process. Here are a few things you can do to help the party run smoothly, so you can relax and enjoy spending time with your loved ones.

Do a Potluck

Whether you're doing a party for five family members or 20, don't try to take on the cooking all by yourself. If you enjoy cooking, then bring two or three dishes instead of one. Ask the other people attending the party to each bring a dish.

To avoid having multiple people bring similar items:

  • Consider breaking everyone down into groups and assigning them a side or a dessert category.
  • Start a line of communication through text or email that lets each person say what they are bringing.
  • Make sure you include what you're going to provide for the meal.

Eat Buffet Style

Instead of passing each dish around the table, consider using a buffet table New Glasgow NS. If you don't have an actual buffet table to use, a simple foldable utility table will work just fine. Using a buffet will allow people to quickly get their food and sit back down, which helps prevent your guests from constantly asking for something to be passed to them.

If you have the space, consider placing your buffet table in a location that can be accessed from both sides. Doing so will allow more people to get their food at one time, and then no one has to stand in a long line waiting to eat.
